Painting with feet!
This week, before the weather turned, Jack and I had some fun outside, painting with our feet. I had managed to get hold of an enormous roll of brown paper so I cut off a nice big piece and laid it out on the decking. Then I filled up the paddling pool with warm soapy water – ready to wash off afterwards. We squeezed some different coloured paints onto paper plates and it was time to get stuck in and make a mess! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L73hQAyC_Dc
We had a lot of fun getting the squidgy paint between our toes and walking up and down over the paper, making a great big messy pattern. Then Jack stripped off and got in the paddling pool to clean up, while I hung the painting up to dry. The finished article looks great and this is a great and cheap way to jazz up the plain, brown paper for use as wrapping paper!
Fun and practical. Always the best activities to do!
I must also credit here my wonderful blogger friend Ciara from Our Little House in the Country from whom we completely pinched this idea!

Great way to jazz up brown paper. We’ve used potato prints before for wrapping paper and rainbow feet for cards. Double the fun. Great outdoor craft. #CountryKids

What a fab idea. We have been thinking about messy paint projects recently and this would pretty much fit the bill! Thanks for the inspiration! #countrykids

Messy play terrifies me! But this was great as we could do it all outside!xx

We love things that can be used too after the crafting. I used to do feet with the boys, but now they are bigger it is all stamping and sticking!

We love sticking too! we get easily distracted so activities like this are good as they are quick and easy. 🙂 x

I bit into the messy color play fruit and got my son some paint set! I use to be scared of the mess getting on the wall and were renting so that is bad. But we have a terrace & we color in there and we might do this one =) #countrykids

Yes I am terrified of letting my two loose with mess- which I think has rubbed off on them a bit as they don’t like to get dirty (not for long anyway!). x
